I am proud to share my journey, which has shaped me into the professional I am today. Growing up as the oldest child of seven in a single-parent home, I faced significant challenges that many can relate to. Struggling with self-esteem and the feeling that I was not pretty enough, I often found it challenging to understand the importance of setting boundaries and respecting myself. At 19, I became pregnant while in college, leading me to make the difficult decision to drop out to raise my son. Returning home and eventually enrolling in community college marked my turning point. My son became my motivation to pursue education and growth; I realized that becoming a better woman was essential not just for myself but also for him.
Fueled by my desire to help others, I embarked on an educational path that ultimately led me to earn a master's degree in psychology and a second in counseling. My curiosity about human behavior, particularly why people act the way they do, prompted me to further advance my studies, culminating in a doctorate in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family.
I am passionate about helping people become aware of themselves and equipping them with strategies to become the best versions of themselves. My mission is to provide the support and guidance I wish I had received during my struggles. As a licensed clinical mental health counselor and qualified supervisor, I am dedicated to nurturing new therapists and empowering them to make a difference in the lives of their clients.
As I navigate my life alongside my husband and two sons, I am continually inspired by the transformative power of mental health and well-being. I hope to foster growth and healing in individuals and create a ripple effect that extends to families and communities. In doing so, I pay forward the lessons I have learned and the support I need during my journey.
Kindest regards,
